The definition of Emerge – to move out of or away from something and come into view. It also means to recover from a difficult situation. The way I see it, emerge means to be seen, to allow my Christ-centered self to be seen. 

I believe EMERGNG is a directive from God. He is calling me out of my fear and bitterness so I can be a true disciple of Christ. I am letting go of past stories born out of pain, frustration, and regret. I am letting go of the world and its superficial resemblance to the God of the Bible.

What I fear most though is that I will GIVE UP. I worry that I will succumb to fear and doubt; that I will fail to TRUST my Triune God. I’m afraid I will lose the vision of why I am emerging.  But I’m holding onto Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose – I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]

I want more God and less world. I want more faith and less fear. I want more freedom and less constraint. I want more joy and less bitterness. I want more Jesus and less me. And I want more rest and less striving.

And I give thanks because as I keep my mind on Him, He will keep me in perfect and constant peace. (Isaiah 26:3)
